POWER & DISTRIBUTION TRANSFORMER LAMINATIONS

Core laminations for power and distribution transformers are produced using different grades of cold-rolled grain-oriented (CRGO) steel. These laminations are slit and precisely cut into accurate geometric profiles, incorporating both 90° and 45° mitred angles to meet specific design requirements.

Since transformer lamination manufacturing demands exceptional precision, strict quality monitoring is maintained throughout production. Critical parameters such as burr height, stack thickness, dimensional accuracy, and weight are carefully inspected to ensure compliance with specifications.

LAMINATION QUALITY CONTROL

Quality inspections are conducted consistently from the initial production stage through to final dispatch. Separate records are maintained for each drawing, enabling easy traceability of every order. Before shipment, the delivery inspector performs a comprehensive final check of the cut laminations and authorizes dispatch only after approval.

    • 150–500: ±0.30
    • Above 500: ±0.50
  2. Thickness (mm) : ±0.03
  3. Edge Burr (Max) : 20 microns
  4. Length (mm)
    • Up to 350: +0.00 / –0.40
    • 350–1000: +0.00 / –0.60
    • 1000–2000: +0.00 / –1.00
    • Above 2000: +0.00 / –2.00
  5. Edge Camber : For materials wider than 150 mm, camber must not exceed max 0.9 mm upto 2-meter length.
  6. Wave Factor (Flatness Deviation) : For widths above 150 mm, deviation from flatness must remain within 1.5%.
  7. Angle Accuracy : ±5 minutes
  8. Stack Thickness (Unclamped, excluding centre step) : >+1 / –0 mm
